GreenLight Initiative-Ghana Marks the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims 2024 with Impactful Activities

In commemoration of this year’s World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, GreenLight Initiative-Ghana organized a series of impactful activities aimed at improving road safety awareness and reducing traffic-related fatalities. These initiatives spanned educational sessions, street campaigns, and radio engagements, targeting various groups to promote safer road usage.

Highlights of the Activities:
1. Student Engagement at Ghana Senior High School (November 12): Our team educated students on essential road safety rules and regulations, emphasizing their importance for daily application. The session aimed to equip young people with knowledge to reduce road crashes and foster a culture of safe road use.

2. Educational Session at Choggu Demonstration JHS (November 13): Students at Choggu Demonstration Junior High School participated in an engaging session designed to enhance their understanding of pedestrian safety and responsible road behavior.

3. Tricycle Driver Awareness Campaign (November 16): The team engaged tricycle drivers at the Central Business District of Tamale, educating them on passenger safety practices and the importance of adhering to traffic laws to reduce road crashes.

4. Radio Engagements (November 12 & 23): To reach a broader audience, our team hosted discussions on Bishara Radio and Radio Savannah. These sessions focused on enhancing public knowledge of road safety and addressing common causes of road crashes.
At GreenLight Initiative-Ghana, we believe that reducing road crashes requires collective action and the active involvement of every road user, especially young people. Together, we can build a safer and more inclusive road environment for all.
