
GreenLight Initiative participates in FRSC Stakeholders Seminar
GreenLight Initiative participated in the 2019 3rd Quarter of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Special Duties and External Relations Capacity Building Workshop in Abuja.
Declaring the event open, the Deputy Corps Marshal in charge of Special Duties and External Relations FRSC, DCM JA Asom said the workshop was aimed building strong capacity among its members, Non-governmental Organizations, Civil Society Organizations and other relevant stakeholders with a view to reducing road traffic crashes in line with the United Nations 2020 agenda of reducing road traffic fatalities and serious injuries by 50%.
He disclosed that strong collaboration between relevant stakeholders will go a long way in reducing RTC while urging participants to proffer solutions to some of the critical road safety issues.
Presenting a lecture titled Recommendation and Implementation Strategy as Part of Report Writing in FRSC by Root Commander AI Kefas, he identified lack of effective implementation strategy in critical report among agencies as burden to implementing key recommendations among establishments.
Similarly, in another lecture titled “Transportation with external partners as a catalyst for efficient service delivery in FRSC” by Prince Ache Julius, the CEO of Road Accident Prevention Network Center (RAPNEC), explained that the FRSC cannot do it alone, hence they need support from the public, NGOs, CSOs as well as other relevant government agencies. He added that the partnership and collaboration with key stakeholders with a view to prevention RTC would yield positive results.
