Press Communique: GreenLight Initiative Expands Operations to Ghana, Aiming for Broader African and Global Impact
GreenLight Initiative (GLI) is excited to announce the expansion of its operations to Ghana, marking a significant step towards our vision of promoting road safety, environmental sustainability, and community development across Africa and beyond. This new branch represents our commitment to extending our lifesaving work globally, with Ghana serving as a strategic hub for further growth.
Since its inception in Nigeria, GLI has been dedicated to preventing violent deaths and injuries by improving transportation safety and promoting sustainable development. Our evidence-based interventions and advocacy campaigns have made a measurable impact, and we are eager to bring these successes to new regions. With Ghana as the next step, GLI is poised to broaden its influence across Africa and the world at large.
Specific Focus in Ghana: In Ghana, GLI will initially focus on enhancing road safety in high-risk areas, conducting community workshops on transportation safety, and advocating for stronger environmental sustainability practices. We will work closely with the Ghanaian government, local authorities, and community leaders to implement these vital initiatives.
Key Partnerships: We are proud to collaborate with partners like the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Transportation, Ghana Education Services, Ghana National Road Safety Authority, Ghana Health Services, Ghana Police Services, Driver and Vehicle Licencing Authority, who share our commitment to creating safer and more sustainable environments for all.
“We are excited to begin our journey in Ghana and to be part of a movement that will benefit not just Ghanaians but people across Africa. Our mission to save lives, enhance transportation safety, and foster sustainable development aligns with the needs of many communities. We look forward to making a lasting difference, here in Ghana and in the future as we expand worldwide.” Mohammed Gazali Salifu, Country Director – Ghana
“The expansion into Ghana is a monumental milestone for GreenLight Initiative. Our vision has always been to save lives by promoting safe and sustainable mobility beyond borders. We are setting our sights on Africa and the global stage. GreenLight is determined to collaborate with international partners, governments, and communities to make roads safer, protect the environment, and promote sustainable practices everywhere.” Simon Patrick Obi, Founder and Board Member
Call to Action: We invite local communities, governments, and international partners to join hands with us as we work to make a lasting impact in Ghana and across Africa. Together, we can create safer roads, promote sustainable practices, and improve the overall well-being of our communities.
