On the 24th July 2019 at the kaduna state ministry of health conference hall,
Corps member Abdullahi Sadiq Hamza with the stake code: KD/18c/0331 organized a step-down advocate training for 55 NYSC Corps members serving in Kaduna State
During the training, Abdullahi highlighted the different factors responsible for road traffic crashes (RTC), the effects of RTC and the preventive measures, as well as the essential details in ensuring safety on the highways.
In his words “It was indeed interesting because I made it an interactive session with support from my president who also attended the advocate training organized by GreenLight Initiative in Kaduna State”
Speaking on his achievements, Abdullahi mentioned the following; 1. I was able to pass the information on RTC to the NYSC members.
2. The NYSC members responded nicely, they showed interest in the topic of discussion
3. NYSC CDS group scheduled officer also commends my effort towards the implementation of the project
He highlighted some of the challenges faced as;
1. Getting a laptop for the presentation: since I don’t have a laptop, I have to borrow from someone to be able to use the soft copy of the material sent to us. That took me two weeks for me to get it.
2. I was not able to project the presentation because the laptop doesn’t have the exact port, I had to carry the laptop around sometimes for participants to see some pictures.
Having done this, my next target is to organize and coordinate similar program at the local government level, I will liaise with the NYSC Liaison officer Kaduna North to mobilize participants for the next program.
Afterward, I would extend the program to Motor Garage; I will use the opportunity to engage motor union officials in Kaduna North and Kaduna South. I will also engage tricycles owners and associations.
Finally, I am very happy to have transferred the knowledge gained during the advocates training organized by GreenLight Initiative in Kaduna State.
